| Some awesome things have happened in the past week, but crappier things have also happened which brings the overall level of the week to "Pretty Terrible". This can be shortened to just "PT". I had a PT week.
I could do two lists that split up the good and the bad, but I guess it would be easier to list chronologically.
Tuesday 9-9-08 My alarm clock goes off at 4:46 AM. I go to work in Homer, LA. Work starts at 6 AM and it takes a little while to drive there. I get off at 5 PM. I go to the Wesley Foundation for their weekly Bible Study/worship thing. I talk to a few people. It was nice seeing them. I talked to this person that I know doesn't like (hates) me. That person didn't respond and gave me the quiet treatment or something and walked away. Not sure what they were going for. Later that night, I was about to go to bed and that person instant messaged me. I was surprised but it was just them wanting to tell me not to talk to them. They went on to say several other hateful things that turned out not to be true because I asked my friend Marcia to find out if they were and she told me that they were lies. I don't know what I did to that person to make them dislike me so much. I asked but they wouldn't tell. I talked to the person until about 12:30 AM, then sent Marcia a message wanting to talk and then she called me right back.
Wednesday 9-10-08
My alarm clock goes off at 4:46 AM. I got maybe 4 hours of sleep. I go to work in Homer, LA. I get off at 5 PM.
Thursday 9-11-08 My alarm clock goes off at 4:46 AM. I got maybe 4 hours of sleep. I had things on my mind and couldn't go to sleep the night before. I go to work in Homer, LA. I get off at 1 PM. I drove to Minden to pick up a guy I work with that had his truck worked on there. I got a speeding ticket for going 67 in a 55 ($189). The cop didn't even ask why I was in such a hurry until after he had written the ticket. What a dick. After I dropped the guy off, I picked up a friend in Ruston that I'm going to sell my car to so I would have someone to drive my car back to Ruston when I picked up my new truck in Shreveport. The truck was late coming in, so it wasn't ready for me to take home. I put down a large down payment that emptied my bank account and got all the paperwork filled out and headed back to Ruston.
Friday 9-12-08
My alarm clock goes off at 4:46 AM. I got maybe 5 hours of sleep. I
had things on my mind and couldn't go to sleep the night before. I go
to work in Homer, LA. I get off at 12:30 PM. My truck was suppose to be delivered to my house around 2 PM. It doesn't arrive until 4:36. The excitement of getting a new vehicle has worn off by this point. Lack of sleep didn't help. I'd been trying to get a truck for 2 months. The dealer in Monroe hadn't worked with me too well. After the guy who delivered my truck left, I drove my truck around for a while. The excitement ignited within me again. This was MY truck and it had everything I wanted with it. I had sent the dealer in Shreveport an email listing what I wanted included with my truck and the price I'd be willing to pay for it. He did pretty well. Joe Upton was the dealer's name. I liked dealing with him more than the other 3 dealers I met with. He's also the one that delivered my truck to my house since it hadn't been ready the day before. I called a few people to ride in my truck, but the first couple were busy and couldn't. I called a couple others that I hadn't seen in a while and finally got someone to share my joy with. I drove around for about 3 hours Friday evening. You couldn't get the smile off my face.
Saturday 9-13-08
My alarm clock goes off at 4:46 AM. I had gotten about 4 hours of sleep. I go to work in Homer, LA. I get off around 10:30 or so because it's raining and the contractor has taken the weekend off for Hurricane Ike. Saturday day was turned out pretty good. Some guys came over Saturday night and we played computer games together. Nerdy yes, but I think it's pretty fun.
Sunday 9-14-08
The one day of the week that my alarm clock has the possibility of not going off at 4:46 AM, I wake up at 11:30 AM. I still have many hours of sleep to catch up on, but I hate wasting time. I get ready and head to Monroe to show my family my new truck and see my roommate from freshman year at LA Tech. Things go well. Sunday is a good day. I hung out with my old friend for a couple of hours at Sonic. We don't see each other anymore since he lives in Houston now.
Monday 9-15-08
My alarm clock goes off at 4:46 AM. I've gotten 4.5 hours of sleep. I brush my teeth and go to work in Homer. I get off around 4:15 PM and head to Shreveport to visit some friends. I stopped in Bossier to show one of my engineering friends my new truck. He gives the proper responses of awe that I had hoped for. Then his wife pulls up. She's pregnant. I asked her what she thought and she said "I'm not gonna lie. I don't like the color." It was a struggle for her to say she liked anything about my truck. She thought the backup camera on the tailgate was dumb, too. She's in her second trimester of pregnancy, I think. I then go to meet my other friend at her house so we can go eat with my old roommate Patrick. On my way, I'm stopped at a redlight and suddenly my truck jerks forwards slightly. First thought, "Are you serious?" A black dude had rearended my less-than-4-day old truck. We both get out of our cars and he's giving me constant reasons as to what happened. "My brakes gave out.....mechanic....something something....put on emergency brake...." I was barely listening because I was more concerned about my truck than the reasons for his attempt to destroy what I had worked for. There didn't appear to be any damage. From the look of his front LSU license plate, it looked like he had hit my trailer hitch. He gave me his phone number. I didn't want to spend time dealing with him or cops or anything. I didn't want to waste the time. My truck looked fine. We both drove off. I wanted to cry. I didn't. I was just upset for most of the rest of the night. I wasn't even excited about showing my friend my truck. It had been marred, but not really.
I'm at work and am going to eat lunch now. I'll finish this later. (11:12 AM, 9-17-08) Continuing at 12:51 PM...
Tuesday 9-16-08
My alarm clock goes off at 4:39 AM. It's 7 minutes earlier than my usual time because I have to drive from Shreveport. I was able to get about 4 hours of sleep. I drive to Homer for work. I get off at 4:01 PM. At 4:07 PM, I crest a hill and as I near the bottom, a cop comes around the curve and gets me doing 68 in a 55 zone. Three cop cars pull up behind me as I turn off on a side road to stop. Again, the cop takes my license and insurance back to his car, then comes back up to my truck with a ticket and asks where I was heading in such a hurry. What an asshole. I asked if he could just give me a warning, but he said the ticket was already made out. So he obviously didn't care why I was speeding. I don't know why he asked. I hate Homer again. I continue home and take a nap. I'm awakened from my nap by a text message from my mom asking about a speeding ticket I had gotten. She then asked me to call her. Apparently they send post cards to my parents' house because that is the address on my license. I've never gotten a postcard about a ticket before. When I wake up from naps, I typically need about 30 minutes or more for my mood to settle. Otherwise, I am very irritable. This wasn't a good way to come out of a nap. So my mom is telling me about how my insurance is going to go up and how the ticket costs $189. I finally tell her I don't want to talk about it right now and we get off the phone. So now I know that by the end of the week, they will have another postcard telling them about another speeding ticket that I got. I'll then get another phone call telling me how my insurance is going to super go up. So I have more to look forward to.

| I want to type something, but i can't think of what to say. I am going to Ukraine in about 12 days. I don't feel ready. I don't think I have raised all the money I need to go either. I have so much I have to do before I depart on May 20th. School is the first priority. I have to finish up a report for Thursday. I have to study for a final in a class that I am retaking. In this class, I have to take the final earlier, because then I have to do a presentation in my InVenture Research class. None of the other members of my group know how to put a good powerpoint presentation together. To add to it, everyone did their own section, so the powerpoint was like looking at four different powerpoints because nobody worked together. The closest we got to looking at each other's work was me formatting everyone's slide to fit in with what was already made. Then after all my school work is finished, I have to pack up everything I own and move it back home to Monroe where I don't really have a place to put it, plus my brother and his fiance' are still living at my parents house, so I don't even know if they'll have ANY room for me. In between all that, I'm trying to learn some Ukrainian so I won't be completely clueless while I am over there. And then I need to learn AutoCAD for my job that I have this summer. *sigh... So tired.

| I really like the band porterdavis. Not only is their music really good, but the guys that make up the band are incredible. Even if they didn't play music, I'd enjoy just talking to them. They played at the Dawg House tonight. They finished up about 4 hours ago. My birthday is on Sunday, so tonight (Friday night) was kinda my birthday party. They did their best to make me feel special. They mentioned my name in a couple of the songs they sang, and talked about it being my birthday a few times. I felt so much love. Everyone acknowledged me and knew who I was. It felt like sophomore year again when I knew most of the people on Tech's campus. I danced most of the time, but it took me a while to get started because one of the friends that I had come with didn't seem like she was having a good time. We are talking about it now, and I don't really know what to tell her. I'm sleepy.

| I had a weird dream last night. I was driving in my car on a winding road. There was a girl in my passenger seat and a guy in the back seat. I can't remember who they are, but they felt like close friends. Oncoming cars were driving really crappy, swerving into my lane and such. It was like they were playing chicken with me or something. I got angry and sped up and started driving dangerously, too. I came upon a bridge that was about 100 to 150 yards above a swamp below. There were no guard rails. The bridge curved sharp to the right, and I was going too fast to take it. My car went off the bridge and rushed towards the water. Everyone in the car was yelling and screaming and cussing as we fell. My car landed in the swamp upside down. My window had been cracked, but I rolled it up so water wouldn't rush into my car and we would have more time to think about what to do. My car sank about 20 yards into the swampy water. I think at this point, the scene suddenly changed. I was moved forward in time. I apparently had made it out of my car alright. I had a lot of stuff in my car, though. I was upset about the loss of my computer, too. I think there was something else of importance in my car, but I cannot remember what it was. As I dwelled on my loss and what I would do, I suddenly returned to consciousness. I was happy to find out that none of those events had happened. It was neat, though, plummeting to the water below. Like flying, except I could die. I don't know why I was as calm as I was in the event. I yelled as we fell, but it was the kind of yell like something scared me, but I was still in control. | | |
| So even though it's been a few weeks, I guess I'll tell about my weekend at Austin City Limits Music Festival. I might miss a few things, but whatever.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2006: Thursday evening we left around 7:00 PM and went to Shreveport to meet Patrick's girlfriend at her house and eat some food that she made for us. We got there, and I started eating, then I froze and said "Oh my God, I forgot the tickets." Patrick and Jordan thought I was just screwing around. I normally would be, but I wasn't this time. I wanted to finish eating because i was hungry, but it was late, so I took Patrick's car and started driving back. On the way, I finally got a hold of my roommate Phillip and got him to get my tickets out of the glove compartment of my car and drive to Mindenish to meet me. That cut my trip in half about. Thank you, Pip. I put about $7 in Pat's tank and headed back to Jordan's house. I ate some. Jordan's mom was really nice to me. I didn't think she cared for me much since when we met, I was just acting like I normally do....not real nice. I thought I was nice, but not everybody can perceive the nice undertones in the things I say. So we left there. We stayed at one of Patrick's old friend's house in San Marcos. We got there around 6 AM and went to sleep.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2006: We woke up on Friday at about 9:30ish. Actually, I stayed asleep a little bit longer than everyone else. I was awakened when something slapped the back of my head, and then a wet nose nuzzled my face. i didn't see what it was, but I got under the blanket for a moment until whatever it was left. When I came out from under my blanket, nothing was there. Apparently there was a huge dog that lived upstairs. It's name was Reesee or something like that. I later found out that he was very good at catching racquet balls. It was a chocolate lab.
I don't have time to finish this right now. Maybe in a few days I will. | | |
